The course covers:

• Summary question: Questions are answered by summarizing text passages.
• Type of reader: Who is addressed in this text? Who is the target group?
• Function of title, first and last paragraph: What is the purpose of the beginning and the end of a text? What significance do they have with regards to reader attention?
• Character development in literary texts: Which character traits do main and minor characters have?
• Narrator and narrative perspective: From which perspective can a story be told? What effect does this perspective have on the reader?
